It’s incredible to see how far patient co-design in clinical trials has come since Merakoi was established after working on this approach with a few pioneering study teams willing to bring in the patient perspective. I remember those early days and the challenges we faced, but also the excitement of realizing the potential impact of giving patients a real voice in the process.

Over the years, it’s been so gratifying to witness the evolution of patient involvement in clinical research. We’ve seen the patient voice become more diverse, more representative, and more integral to the studies themselves. Merakoi has been at the forefront of this, from running muliti-country quant research on potential trial audiences, to assembling study mini-communities consisting of teams of both trial-experienced and trial-naive patients.

Trials without co-design are like a compass without a needle!
