AI will reshape patient engagement

ChatGPT and other large language models (LLMs) are set to transform how we engage with patients. 💡

I recently learned how LLMs can reveal patient experiences and unmet needs - especially for those with rare diseases. This is a huge win for both health companies and patients!

Here are 3 ways AI will reshape patient engagement:

1️⃣ It shifts focus from understanding patients to building solutions for them.

LLMs can quickly synthesize patient insights so we spend less on discovery research. Instead, invest that budget into designing solutions that patients actually want and will use.

2️⃣ Patients become co-creators instead of data sources.

With AI, we won’t have to ask patients the same questions repeatedly. Rather, invite them to ideate and co-design the solutions. This is empowering for patients!

3️⃣ Solutions will better fit patients’ needs.

Together with product designers, AI can rapidly test concepts with patients and refine them. This means we can create tailored solutions that truly match patients’ wants and contexts.

In short, AI stands to make patient engagement more efficient, collaborative and impactful.

And, the role of the patient shifts from survey taker to solution co-creator.
